A good, effective and comprehensive anti-aging skincare routine is surely an investment but you should not splurge on products without testing them out. Try to use samples of products you are willing to buy and then decide. Experts say there is no specific age for using anti-aging products. Just start using anti-aging elements in your skincare routine once you enter your twenties.

You can also opt to buy skincare supplements from online pharmacies which target aging signs such as fine line and wrinkles. Let’s take a look at how you should create a good anti-aging skincare routine.

  1. Cleanse

Cleansing is the ultimate first step of any effective skincare routine. The type of cleanser you use according to your skin type matters a lot. It is recommended to use gentle face wash particularly if you use active ingredients. A common mistake people do is use a cleanser that is harsh on their skin and eventually, it disrupts the skin barrier.

  1. Tone

Toner is not a compulsory step, but it will do well for your skin if you use it regularly. Toner is a great way to balance the pH level of your skin. If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, look for a toner with salicylic acid in it, which helps with breakouts. Opt for a hydrating toner if you have dry skin.

  1. Vitamin C Serum

Skincare experts recommend using a vitamin-C serum during the day to help with fine line and wrinkles. No matter what your age, start using a vitamin C serum during your early twenties. Vitamin C helps with reversing the damage caused by harmful UV rays of the sun. When buying a vitamin C serum, look for a stable form of vitamin C, so that the molecule soaks into your skin easily.

  1. Eye Cream

The next step of a skincare routine involves targeting specific skin conditions with products. Eye creams come under the ‘treating’ category. To prevent dark circles, fine lines or eye wrinkles, dab on eye cream around the eye area using your ring finger with little pressure to the area as the nerves in the eye area are most delicate and may break if you massage too rigorously.

  1. Moisturize

After treating the skin with previous steps, it’s time to moisturize. Moisturizer helps keep the skin hydrated and s your skin barrier. For daytime use, look for a light moisturizer that is not too greasy and which does not cause build-up in your skin.

  1. Sunscreen

This last step is the most important in your skincare routine. If you do not apply sunscreen, there is no use in doing all the above steps as well because the products will be useless. The harmful UV rays from the sun are the No.1 contributing factor in skin aging. So apply sunscreen no matter what weather conditions. Use a sun block even if it is cloudy or rainy. Use it even if you are indoors as the sun rays come through the windows.
